Ingrown Management

What is the Ingrown Management treatment ?

A specialized treatment designed to target ingrown and trapped hairs while restoring balance to the delicate skin of the vulvar area. This results-focused service combines gentle exfoliation and calming techniques to help release trapped hairs, reduce the appearance of inflammation, and support healthier-looking skin.

Ideal for clients prone to ingrown hairs, irritation, or congestion, this treatment is designed to leave the skin feeling smoother, calmer, and beautifully cared for.

Each treatment includes:

Hair grows up and out through the follicle, but when that process gets blocked or disrupted, it can turn into an ingrown. This means the hair curls back into the skin or gets trapped underneath a layer of dead skin cells. And just like acne, there’s a little science behind why that happens:

What Causes Ingrown Hairs?

Sticky skin cells: Dormant skin that clumps together and clogs the follicle.
Trapped hairs: Hair can’t break through the surface and gets redirected inward.
Inflammation: The skin sees the hair as an invader and freaks out—cue redness, swelling, or even pus.

Ingrowns vs. Acne Lesions

They may look similar, but they’re not the same:

Ingrown Hair

Ingrown hairs occur when a hair that has been removed—typically through shaving or waxing—grows back into the skin instead of properly emerging through the follicle. This can create a small, raised bump that may be red, inflamed, itchy, tender, or contain visible trapped hair. They are especially common in areas with coarse, curly hair and can become more frequent with friction, buildup, or improper hair-removal techniques.

Acne Lesion

Acne-like bumps can look very similar to ingrown hairs but may have a different underlying cause. They can develop from clogged pores, excess oil, bacteria, inflammation, or irritation and do not necessarily involve a trapped hair. These lesions may appear as whiteheads, pustules, or inflamed bumps and can occur even when hair removal is not involved.
